Right now, yes — Bead Works is free to use during the beta. I haven't settled on a long-term pricing model yet; figuring that out with real feedback from testers is actually part of what this beta period is for. If that ever changes, I'll announce it clearly rather than surprise anyone already using the app.
Bead Works is live on the web, in beta on Android, and iOS is next. Designs sync across devices via Google Drive, so you can start on one platform and pick up where you left off on another.
Peyote, brick stitch, loom, gourd, right-angle-weave, medallion, star, and earring patterns — with more grid types added over time based on what testers ask for.
Color palettes are mapped to real bead brands, including Miyuki Delica, Miyuki Rocaille, Toho Round, Fuse beads (Perler/Hama), and Artkal — so the colors you pick in the app correspond to beads you can actually buy.
Yes. Anything you design in Bead Works is yours. For the full details, see the Terms of Use.
Yes — patterns you design are yours to use however you like, including selling finished beadwork made from them. See the Terms of Use for the exact terms.
Yes. Your designs are stored locally on your device, so you can keep designing without an internet connection. You'll only need an internet connection to sync a design to Google Drive.
Pick or take a photo, and Bead Works converts it into a stitch-accurate pattern, mapped to a real bead-brand color palette. That conversion happens on your device — your photo isn't uploaded to any server we operate.
Yes. There are no ads and no data-selling in Bead Works. For the full picture — what's collected, what Google Drive sync actually has access to, and how crash reporting works — see the Privacy Policy.
Email feedback@beadworksapp.com. During the beta, that feedback directly shapes what gets built next.
There's no firm date yet — Android beta feedback comes first. If you want to be notified when iOS is ready, email feedback@beadworksapp.com with "iOS waitlist" in the subject.
